10. Leighton Meester Has Sued Her Mother For Misusing Her Money
Leighton Meester’s issues with her mother, Constance Meester, have been very public. She first ended her professional relationship with her mother, who had served as her manager, and then later took Constance to court over a separate incident.
According to Daily Mail, in 2012, Meester made headlines after suing her mother in the Los Angeles Superior Court. Leighton claimed that Constance was allegedly using the money she had sent for her younger brother Alexander’s medical bills on her own cosmetic surgery, including Botox and hair extensions. Constance responded by saying that her daughter had promised to pay her $10,000 a month to take care of her and that was why she was using the money on herself, but Meester rejected these claims and the court agreed that there was no such agreement.
Meester did not want to recover any money but did want to end her relationship with her mother. In 2014, Constance spoke to InTouch Weekly about how she has been struggling financially since her daughter cut her off, claiming, “My car was taken away. My house has gone into default, and we can’t afford food. I only have $26 left. If something doesn’t happen soon, we’ll be homeless by the holidays.”
9. Lindsay Lohan’s Dad Is Always Available For A Comment On Her Life
Lindsay Lohan has had a strained relationship with her father, Michael Lohan, for many years, and perhaps that’s in part due to his willingness to speak about his daughter with the press. When things turned nasty with Lindsay and her ex-fiancé Egor Tarabasov, her dad was there to share his views, telling Star (via The Mirror): “All I know is my daughter’s paying most of the bills and trips were complimentary because of Lindsay’s name. She was a segue way for him to live that lifestyle.”
In 2017, she spoke with John Bishop: In Conversation With…, (via Digital Spy) and compared her father’s character to “Jekyll and Hyde,” saying that her parents’ relationship influenced her to stay with Tarabasov.
But in January of 2018, Lohan spoke about her relationship with her parents during an appearance on The Wendy Williams Show where she declared that it was “great.”
According to Us Weekly, she added: “I think that, you know, in life, parents have their things together and sometimes the children are immersed in it and you just have to really step back and let your parents do what they do and figure out everything for themselves. And we all have a great relationship now so it’s nice . . . it’s much simpler that way.”
